A wealth of activities and clubs
With over 80 clubs and activities on offer from Sport, Science, Cheerleading and Languages to the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Singing, Song Writing and Photography there are plenty of opportunities for students to broaden their outlook and learn new skills outside of the curriculum.
Why join an extra-curricular club?
Taking part in a club is one of the best things a student can do. It’s a great opportunity to:
• Make new friends
• Have fun
• Improve your fitness
• Boost your CV for university and future job applications
• Build confidence
• Extend your knowledge

Hillview Performing Arts Saturday and Summer School
In addition to our extra-curricular clubs, we also offer a very successful Performing Arts Saturday School. This includes a range of classes in Dance, Musical Theatre and Drama, taught by specialist Dance and Drama teachers. These are open to students from any school and run on Saturday mornings during term time, as well as for two weeks during the summer holidays. Visit our Community pages for further details or view our current timetable.
Each year, as well as offering regular clubs, we run a rich calendar of events in which students from all year groups are encouraged to participate. Our annual musical is always a highlight for the school and we stage a ‘Stars in their Eyes’ talent show, as well as numerous drama productions, fashion shows and concerts.
Students at Hillview participate in a wide variety of educational visits and excursions throughout the year. We also partner with other schools and local businesses to participate in joint projects. These activities help enrich students’ experiences, broaden their outlooks and provide opportunities for them to collaborate and extend their knowledge.
Our Languages department runs trips to Spain and France, with this year’s GCSE Spanish group visiting Madrid in October. This is a great opportunity for students to build upon their language skills and cultural knowledge. There are also trips to the theatre, galleries, museums and outdoor pursuits centres. In 2016 a group of students and teachers will be visiting a village in Uganda with which we have strong links.
