We have some extremely exciting news to announce to you all!
This summer sees the exciting launch of our first Festival! Hillview Festival of the Arts, fondly knows as ‘Hillfest’ will celebrate an incredible year of talent and success across the wider spectrum of the Arts: from the Performing and Visual Arts into creative writing, poetry and media. This event will celebrate everything that we do so well at Hillview on an even larger scale and bring the extended Hillview community together.
Unfortunately huge government cuts in funding is happening to the arts which is impacting schools and students greatly, we want to showcase the huge amount of talent that our students have and the enormous importance of these subjects to their futures.
Hillfest will feature an Art & Fashion Gallery, Media tent and hugely exciting full size outdoor stage, where our students (Dance, drama, singing, instrumental and cheerleading) will perform to around 1200 visitors throughout the event. There will be a raffle, merchandise (including the Hillview CD) workshops and food vendors including wood fired pizza, a hog roast and an ice cream van!
Parents, extended families, friends and the wider community are invited to attend; bring their picnic blankets, chairs, snacks and drinks and enjoy the incredible talent we have at Hillview.
The event will take place on Friday 21st July from 4pm to 10.30pm in the grounds of Tonbridge castle. As this event is on the last day of the 2016-17 academic year we are notifying yourselves well in advance in the hope that you aren’t jetting off to sunnier climes that evening and that you can keep the date free for this fantastic event.
We are obviously very excited by the launch of Hillfest and hope that this will be a highly successful annual event. This does rely on the event being sustainable and we are therefore offering free advertising space in the programme for any businesses who are willing to provide sponsorship. Please contact Charlotte Pope on firstname.lastname@example.org if you feel you are able help.
Tickets are now on sale and at just £10 each (Under 5’s go free) they are sure to be popular! To purchase your tickets please visit our Box Office.
