Congratulations to Evie Webb, 17, from West Peckham, who has been awarded the coveted Encouragement Prize for Design. The prize is sponsored by Tonbridge-based luxury housebuilder Millwood Designer Homes, as part of the prestigious Encouragement Pack initiative that it runs with a number of schools in Kent and East Sussex.
Evie, who is currently studying BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Art and Design in both Fashion and Photography and A Level Fine Art, was nominated for her strong commitment and creative flair in the study of Art and Design. As a Fine Art Ambassador, Evie and her small team worked together to successfully redesign the sixth from corridor.
Cavan Pledge, Evie’s teacher, comments: “Evie is an innovative student and has the ability to combine her skills, ideas and concepts effectively. She is very supportive of others and is willing to share her expertise. Evie is very dedicated and gives many hours of her own time for independent study and after school activities. She has helped in fashion clubs, taken workshops for younger students and been involved in fashion shows and charity projects. She is planning to study Fashion Design at University where we are sure she will flourish.”
Evie, winner of the Encouragement Prize for Design, comments: “I feel very proud to have been nominated for this award. Design has always been an aspect of my life and just having this recognised makes me so happy! This award will certainly help me in the future to progress into a creative career and will open up a wider range of opportunities for me going forward. Thank you to my teachers at Hillview for being so inspirational and always encouraging me to aspire to greater heights.”
Well done Evie!
