In the morning session they presented their work in small seminar groups to Dr Katherine Sandys. They also participated in an interactive light projection workshop with Sarah Gee who runs Filskit Theatre Company.
Samantha Perez-Lumbreras, Outreach Support Officer, introduced students to progression routes and the range of courses within the college and gave them a guided tour.
Dr Katherine Sandys was very impressed with the personal Art journeys that the students have been on and with the high quality of the work. She told the students that she would happily enrol them all on her course!
Students were later introduced to the subtleties of projecting images onto three dimensional objects by award winning independent video and projection designer Nina Dunn from Something Graphic Ltd.
Nina shared some of the amazing projects that she has worked on recently. She encouraged our students to experiment with their ideas and on sharing them she drew their attention to the subtle effects that were achieved as they projected photographs onto a 3D surface.
The students are going to take ideas from what they have discovered into their exam exploration for ‘Past, Present and/or Future’. Mr Pledge showed Nina some of the students’ sketchbooks to share the exciting work that they have been doing and Nina said that she wished that her school had been like ours.
