Could you inspire, support and guide a student to make key decisions about their future career and help them develop crucial employability skills?
Hillview School for Girls are looking for volunteers from a wide section of industries to mentor a student through KS4 (14-16 years of age) or KS5 (16-18 years of age).
The aims of the mentoring is to support students with personal development, further develop their engagement with school, inspire and motivate them, and provide a connection with the world of work.
- Face to face meeting per half-term in our school (Tonbridge, Kent)
- One scheduled telephone call per half-term
- Attend half-day training
The scheme benefits Business Mentors and employers by:
- Allowing you to raise your company profile among Kent students
- Giving you early access to the strongest candidates for employment through professional work experience placements or apprentice schemes
- Developing skills in leadership, management and communication
If you would like to support a student by being a Business Mentor, please provide a CV and written letter of application, outlining why you feel you are suitable for this role and if you have a preference to support a particular Key Stage. We are sure this will be a very rewarding role and will provide you with a significant amount of satisfaction in supporting students through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
All Business Mentors will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
