Mrs Katy Fraser, 1981 - 2025

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Mrs Katy Fraser (nee Hawkins), formerly Head and Teacher of History, who has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Mrs Fraser had a passion for History, which she instilled in the thousands of pupils she taught during her time at Hillview from 2014 to 2023. She was cherished by both staff and students, and will be fondly remembered for her hearty laugh that resonated throughout the school, her deeply moving Holocaust assemblies and projects, as well as her incredible World Book Day costumes, including Miss Marple, Charlotte Brontë, and the Wicked Witch of the West, which resulted in days of scrubbing off green paint!

The funeral will take place at midday on Tuesday, 27th May, at Vinters Park Crematorium, followed immediately by a wake at Fox & Goose, Weavering Street. Colleagues and former students are welcome to attend. Family flowers only at the service, but donations to Heart of Kent Hospice are encouraged. We will be commemorating Mrs Fraser and her impact on our community by placing a plaque and plant in our memorial garden at a later date.
