English Trip to watch the The Great Gatsby Musical

On a radiant Thursday last week, 20 Year 12 English Language and Literature students set off on an exciting journey to London, accompanied by the ever-enthusiastic Mrs. Freeman and the insightful Mrs. Prior. They eagerly gathered to witness the vibrant spectacle of *The Great Gatsby: A New Musical.* The production dazzled with its high-energy performances, drawing the audience into the enchanting world of the Jazz Age through captivating melodies and electrifying choreography. The cast’s incredible vocal performances filled the air, brilliantly capturing the essence of an era defined by glamour and excess.

This theatrical experience served as a fantastic precursor to the text that the students will dive into in Year 13, providing them with a rich and engaging context. Throughout the outing, the students exhibited impeccable behaviour, radiating positivity and respect. Their manners even caught the attention of a group of Australian tourists seated nearby, who remarked on how delightful and personable the students were. It was truly a memorable day that combined education with the magic of live theatre.
